Little Orchard is a purpose built nursery within the grounds of Leesons Primary School. We are very fortunate to have staff who are highly knowledgeable and passionate, bringing many years of experience, understanding and creativity to the nursery. Makaton is used as a multi-modal approach to communication by trained staff - this has been shown to increase opportunities for personal expression and development, participation in interaction and socialisation and to increase access to education.

The children are taught by a qualified early years staff who teach by using a balance of child-led play and a carefully structured and sequenced curriculum, built around the current cohort's specific needs. This mix allows us to scaffold a wide range of skills and knowledge; looking at children's unique skills and interests, as well as planning engaging activities based on children's individual stages of development - making the children’s time purposeful and enjoyable!

The covered outside area enables the children to enjoy outdoor activities whatever the weather and there are plentiful opportunities for the children to learn and explore in the forest area. .

Strong links to the school ensure a smooth transition to reception year within Leesons.

We currently offer morning and afternoon sessions as well as 30 hour funding.
