Homework

Reading:

Each child will be sent home with a reading folder which will contain a reading record, a levelled book and a picture book of their choice. Your child's books will be changed once a week and we ask that you read with them daily and record what you have read in their reading record. If you read with your child four times a week, they will be entered in to the Reading Raffle and have the opportunity to receive a free book of their choice at the end of each half term.

Read Write Inc

As we learn sounds in school, the children will bring them home to use at home. Please help familiarise the children with these sounds. There will be a video on Dojo each week showing you the new sounds. We will say the rhyme and also show you how we form this letter. In addition to this, we will send home a phonics book once the children have learnt the sounds required for these books.

Tricky words:

Each child will be given a set of 'tricky words' to practise reading at home. We will use these in our reading and writing at school. Once children have mastered all their words, they will be given a new set.

Biscuit Bear and Super Ted:

Biscuit Bear and Super Ted are our class bears and they go home with different children each weekend. We ask you and your child to take a few photos and/or write about what they have been up to over the weekend. This can be sent back to school with your class bear on a Monday or uploaded to Dojo. We hope your child enjoys taking the class Bear.
