Music

The teaching of music is based upon the fact that it is a creative and social art to be enjoyed and can support social, emotional and psychological development.

At Leesons Primary School, all pupils have the opportunity to enjoy musical experiences through listening, singing, dance and by playing instruments.

Our music department ensures that pupils have the best opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in this area of the curriculum.

Our music specialist music teachers are from Bromley BYMT, who ensures that pupils have the best opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in this area of the curriculum as well as our school choir.

Music is taught as part of the curriculum from Nursery to Year 6. At EYFS and KS1, children cover all areas of the National Curriculum through music and movement, using percussion and singing. At Key Stage 2, every child has the opportunity to get Music lesson from the specialists and have class lessons for at least one term a year. This will enable each child to develop musicianship skills and advance in talents.
